Taormina Hotel and Casino

We recommend this hotel for those who want to stay downtown and are arriving in the afternoon or simply staying one night – and for those requiring an elevator. The hotel website is www.taorminahotelandcasino.com. The 4th floor “Premium”, “Superior” and “Master Suite” rooms are very luxurious and range from $89 to $142 (including tax) – these rooms are a tremendous value for money. The 2nd has also recently been renovated and the third floor is under renovation. There is a restaurant on site and room service is available. The hotel often runs specials and may extend a discount – contact Viviana, the reservation manager, at local (506) 4055-5500 and tell them you are a Silver King Lodge guest. We also recommend two sister properties, the Hotel La Amistad www.hotelamistad.com and the beautifully renovated Hotel Castillo (website pending).

Hotel La Amistad

The current best deal for those staying for an extended period (several days) in San Jose – the Hotel La Amistad  offers a full inclusive package that includes all meals, bar (premium drinks 50% off), and daily laundry. And their restaurant is really great. Prices range from queen rooms at $94 per person to suites at $114 per person to the penthouse at $134 per person. Hotel Castillo

Currently the Hotel Castillo is booked through the Hotel La Amistad (as above). Rooms are complete and available (3 spectacular penthouse suites with rooftop balconies, king suite with terrace, king room and queen room). The bar and restaurant are projected to be finished in May 2017. Prices through June 2017 are penthouse suites – $169; king suite with terrace – $129; king room – $99; queen room – $89 (including breakfast but not tax). The Hotel Castillo is currently offering all-inclusive plans where guests eat at the Hotel La Amistad while the bar and restaurant is completed.
